JOB #3 - LITERATURE CONNECTIONS
The story of Owl Creek Bridge reminds me of a movie called "Inception." In it, the movie characters are trying to achieve a goal of making someone believe something that is fake. To do this, they put their victims in a sleep like state , and then they themselves enter the victim's dream. Before you know it, they are in a triple dream which is a dream in a dream in a dream. Owl Creek Bridge reminds me of this because during the story, I thought that Fahrquhar was in real life when he was being shot and chased by the soldiers. We learn at the end however , that it was all part of a dream and none of it was actual reality. The movie Inception ends with us unsure if the movie itself is real or all in a dream, and that is how I find these two stories similar. Another connection I see to Owl Creek Bridge, is in my own life. The story starts describing how much trouble Fahrquhar is in.
